New signing is set to miss out due to injury.

Manager Eddie Howe announced during his pre-match press conference that Newcastle United’s new signing, Yoane Wissa, will have to wait for his debut after being sidelined for Saturday’s Premier League encounter against Wolverhampton Wanderers due to an injury sustained while playing for his country.

Following a lengthy transfer drama in which his former club, Brentford, consistently turned down Newcastle’s bids for the forward, resulting in a standoff, Wissa was signed for a cost of 55 million pounds ($74.43 million).

Jacob Ramsey and Yoane Wissa ruled out for Wolves match

The 29-year-old scored goals against Senegal and South Sudan while playing for DR Congo in two World Cup qualifying matches before sustaining a knee injury. When asked if he would be able to play against Wolves at home, Howe responded to reporters:

“Unfortunately not, no. He won’t make this game. I saw him for the first time yesterday. He’s feeling the effects of the injury he sustained just before he came off. So we are going to have to see how he is… I think he will go away for tests and maybe see a specialist. Unfortunately, I can’t give you that update.”

Jacob Ramsey is also expected to miss some time due to an injury sustained during Newcastle United’s 0-0 draw with Leeds United, Howe added.

“His ankle swelled up at halftime, and he had to come off. Unfortunately, I think he will be missing until after the next international break, so that is a big blow,” he added.

Joelinton update

“Joe has trained. He’s been fit and available – he’s been out on the training pitch and is looking good. Really happy to welcome him back, such an important player.” said Howe.

“He’s fine [for Wolves]. He’s trained well and we’re really pleased with how he’s looked in the first couple of days. Big change for him, big opportunity for him. He’s got a great nature, a great character.”

How long will Wissa be out?

The exact date has not been revealed, but with a knee injury, he will be out for some time.

Will Woltemade make his debut?

He could make his debut against Wolves this weekend.

Have Newcastle won any matches yet in PL this season?

No, they have drawn twice and lost once.
