Top three England players to watch out for at Euro 2024
The Three Lions have many young players who can light up the competition.
Given England’s recent performance in important competitions and the exceptional play of their attacking players such as Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and others, Gareth Southgate’s team are among the favourites to win the Euro 2024 trophy.
In Group C, opponents for them are Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia. Head coach Southgate’s major dilemma will be figuring out a starting XI from the 26-man final squad as there is intense talent in the camp.
More than likely, some English players will light up the tournament with their performance. With the Three Lions already brimming with many young talents, let’s take a look at the top three stars who are expected to excel in the tournament.
3. Kobbie Mainoo
The Manchester United teenager stands out from the other candidates for the spot because of his ability to coolly play his way out of difficulties.
Kobbie Mainoo has a better aptitude for making a difference in the closing third of the game, which will be extremely valuable in the tournament’s knockout rounds. In January, he struck his first goal as a senior against Newport County.
A few days later, at Wolves, he produced an incredible goal in the final minutes for United. In addition to scoring at Wembley against Manchester City, he also scored a wonderful goal against Liverpool. As a result, he can perform when it counts for England.

2. Phil Foden
With careful nurturing from Pep Guardiola, Phil Foden has taken an extended period to reach the elite level. Now that he is there, the attacker for Manchester City has been the finest player in the Premier League this year and is expected to start for England in this significant international competition called Euro 2024.
With his fast feet and eye for goal, Foden may be the one who gains the biggest advantage when defences are preoccupied with Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham. It will be intriguing to watch where he starts, whether it is on the wings or as an offensive centre midfielder. He surely will start, which is great news for England supporters who have been waiting for Foden to become a star.

1. Jude Bellingham
Jude Bellingham was granted extra time off following his Champions League victory with Real Madrid, thus he was unable to participate in England’s preliminary matches against Bosnia and Iceland. And on Sunday, the 20-year-old travelled to the St Georges’ Park training facility in England to reunite with his teammates.
Bellingham, who scored 23 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid in the 2023-24 season, is expected to be a vital member of England’s squad after being selected for the No. 10 jersey. Nonetheless, Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate has stated that England is “not putting everything” on the midfield player.
