England announce squad numbers for Euro 2024; Jude Bellingham to wear no 10

Marc Guehi is the man taking over Harry Maguire’s No. 6.
The England football team led by Gareth Southgate confirmed their 26-man squad for Euro 2024 on Thursday evening. The biggest names not included on the final roster were Jack Grealish, Harry Maguire and James Maddison.
The squad numbers are also out for the Three Lions which sees Marc Guehi take Maguire’s No. 6. Guehi plays for Crystal Palace in the Premier League. The 23-year-old centre-back is likely to be the first name in the backline.
In the goalkeeping department, Everton’s Jordan Pickford will carry the No. 1 for England. The 30-year-old is more than likely to lead the England side between the sticks, ahead of Aaron Ramsdale and Dean Henderson. Ramsdale is set to wear No. 13, while Henderson will carry No. 23 on his back.
At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Manchester City’s Jack Grealish had donned the No. 7 jersey. Since Grealish is nowhere to be found on the final 26-man squad, Bukayo Saka has taken up the vacant kit. Cole Palmer, who had a great time in his debut season for Chelsea has the No. 24. Palmer scored 22 goals and made 11 assists in the 2023-24 Premier League season.
The Three Lions are in Group C of the Euros, placed alongside Serbia, Slovenia and Denmark. Southgate’s team remain firm favourites to progress from this group.
