England announce squad for 2024 U17 Euros

The Three Lions will open their Euro U17 against France

The 21-member England men’s under-17 team was announced ahead of the competition in Cyprus, and they will begin their run in the UEFA U17 Euro Finals this week.

After a training camp at St. George’s Park, Young Lions head coach Greg Lincoln made his player selections before the team left for their EURO headquarters in Cyprus.

England is one of 16 teams participating in the Finals, which will take place from May 20 and June 5, after sweeping five of their six matches and advancing through two qualifying stages this season.

They take on France in the first of their three group-stage matches on Tuesday at the Ammochostos Epistrofi Stadium in Larnaca.

The top two countries from each of the four groups will advance to the knockout phases, which start with quarterfinals on May 29 and 30. After that, on June 2nd, the semi-finals are scheduled to be held, and on June 5th, the final.

“We’re delighted to have qualified for the UEFA Men’s Under 17s European Championships and are really looking forward to the tournament kicking off,” said Lincoln, from the squad’s base in Ayia Napa.

“For our players to represent England at a European Finals is a moment in their careers that they will remember forever.

“We would like to thank all clubs for their support with player selection and this will undoubtedly be a great development opportunity for all involved.

“The chance to play at a European Finals isn’t something that happens often. The players are committed to giving their best and taking as much learning out of this experience as possible.
