Mexico book their place in the round of 32.

The second round of group-stage matches began on Matchday 8 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Canada won their first World Cup match by pummeling Qatar 6-0.

Switzerland defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Africa held Czechia to a draw. Mexico secured early promotion to the Round of 32 with a narrow 1-0 win over South Korea.
