Is Lionel Messi playing tonight for Inter Miami vs Columbus Crew in MLS?

Messi is yet to play against Columbus Crew.
Lionel Messi, the marquee forward for Inter Miami, is likely to be available against the Columbus Crew on Wednesday at Lower.com Field. Messi has missed Miamiâs two games against Columbus in all competition this season.
After missing two months due to an injury to his right ankle, Messi made a comeback on September 14. He scored two goals while playing the entire match against Philadelphia. He has since participated in every match.
If Messi plays this league fixture, it is going to be his first match against Columbus Crew after joining MLS. This season, the Crew have an equal head-to-head record versus Miami. They have won 3-2 in the Leagues Cup but lost 2-1 on the road in MLS regular season play.
The Crew are the most disciplined side in the league with an MLS-low 38 yellow cards. They have given up the fewest goals in the league (33) as well. Miami, on the other hand, are tied for third place with 86 yellow cards and have let up 45 goals. Tomas Aviles, the centre-back for Inter Miami, will miss the game because of suspension.

Columbus won the Leagues Cup, nearly won the Campeones Cup before losing to Club America on penalties, and have only lost one of their last seven league games.
This season, the Crew have already caused heartbreak for Inter Miami. In their most recent encounter during the Leagues Cup, where Messi was unable to play because of injury, the Crew rallied for a 3-2 victory with three goals in the last twenty-three minutes.
With three games left, Miami are all but guaranteed to win the Supportersâ Shield as they have led the MLS rankings the whole season, losing only four of their thirty-one games played. Messi and his teammates have played a crucial part in changing the trajectory of the Herons in the MLS.
They will be hoping to get the job done when they face the Crew in the MLS game, as it will further guarantee their chances of winning the Shield.
