Both sides recorded a 2-1 win in the first two legs and have the set score at 1-1.

Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami are set to play the third match of the tri-series playoff game at home. They won the first 2-1, and everyone thought they would do so in the next battle as well. However, Atlanta United shocked everyone by winning the second fixture, 2-1, and making way for the third match.

The Herons enjoyed a stellar regular season in the Major League Soccer (MLS). They broke the MLS points haul, and did so in style on the final day. They beat the New England Revolution 6-2 to gather 74 points and set a new record in the competition.

The Supporters’ Shield winners were left worried as Sergio Busquets missed the second match of the series. The former Barcelona star clearly allows Lionel Messi and others to operate more freely in the final third. We have good news, however, as the midfield maestro is likely to be back for the third game.

“We’re confident in the progression of his recovery, and are hopeful he’ll be available for Saturday’s match,” the MLS record holders announced in a statement. Heach coach Tata Martino also will have to find a way to break the tactics of the opposition team, who seemingly have found a way to contain Messi.

Will Lionel Messi play tonight in the final game of the tri-series playoffs?

After scoring a hattrick against the New England Revolution, in a 6-2 victory on the final day of the regular season, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner has had a tough time against Atlanta United. The Argentinian played both the play-off games, amounting to a total of 180 minutes. But still, the magician failed to unleash his magic on the pitch.

Messi could only produce an assist in the two games combined. This is a big game for the club, and they will need their magician. As Tata Martino expressed:

“At best, there are four finals left.

“Each of the remaining games has the characteristics of a final game and we, with the expectations we have, are ready to face it in the best way,” he added.

The coach was talking about this game at hand, the first of those four finals. Then winning which they will play the Conference semifinals, the final, and then the MLS Cup final. Since Messi’s arrival, the club have earned the utmost respect from opposition sides, as now they have become a really tough team to crack.

Will Leo play tonight? There is no way he won’t feature here. The home crowd will be cheering their lungs out for him to produce his magic, and send them in the semifinals. The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner has no injury concerns and is neither suspended. Moreover, expect La Pulga to start the match.
