Cancelo will be in action for Barcelona when they host Napoli on Tuesday
Joao Cancelo, a full-back for Manchester City who is now on loan at FC Barcelona, stated that his parent team are the favourite to win the Champions League and feels they have the ability to win two straight.
Manchester City defeated Copenhagen 3-1 in the second leg of their last-16 match, securing a 6-2 overall victory that sent them to the Champions League quarterfinals. The defending champions need to win five more games to do something that has only been accomplished by Real Madrid.
The opportunity exists for the Sky Blues to repeat as Champions League winners, something the ‘Merengues’ did three times in succession from 2015 to 2018, making them the reigning European champions.
“Manchester City are the favourites to win the Champions League. I think so because of the squad, the style of playing, manager. They can win two Champions League in a row, I’m sure,” he told ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’.
The ‘Cules’ have yet to face the second leg of their last-16 match against Napoli, but Joao Cancelo, the full-back for Cityzens on loan at FC Barcelona, is still in the competition. In his opinion, his parent club is the frontrunner to win the cup this year.

Since coming to City from Juventus in 2019, Cancelo has been one of the team’s most vital players, amassing 22 assists and nine goals in 154 games. However, following the World Cup, he started to fade from the team as Guardiola opted to start Nathan Ake at left-back rather than the Portuguese.
Before of Barcelona’s Champions League match against Napoli on Tuesday, Joao Cancelo declares that he intends to continue at the team beyond the current season. The Portugal international is now on a loan for the remainder of the season from Manchester City, but he acknowledges that he is unsure of his future with Xavi’s team.
Although Barcelona is reportedly eager to hang onto Cancelo, they might find it difficult to reach an agreement with City. According to reports, Pep Guardiola’s team doesn’t want to loan him out again, and the club might not have the funds to make a permanent move.
