Italian giants Juventus have joined the race to sign Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood in the summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have shown their interest in the youngster.

Mason Greenwood’s future at Manchester United is still hanging in the balance. Several European clubs including the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are interested in the forward.

The 22-year-old Englishman is showing his worth at Getafe. Greenwood has made 27 appearances, with 24 coming in the LaLiga and three in the Copa del Rey. The forward has scored eight goals and provided five assists for the Spanish club.

Juventus are currently sitting third in the Serie A table. The record-time Italian champions missed out on the title in the last three seasons. This season, they are likely to make it to the Champions League. The Old Lady is aiming to rebuild and players like Greenwood can bring in a lot of quality to the team.

Former Man United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has revealed his thoughts on a potential move to Juventus for Greenwood, where he said: “I’m convinced that Mason would do well in any big team, even Juventus. A Greenwood-Vlahovic-Chiesa trident would be super.”

Reports today have stated that Greenwood would potentially be seen as a replacement for Chiesa, who has been linked with the possibility of a summer exit. The United man offers the versatility of playing across the front three, which can’t be said of Chiesa but the possibility of the Italian, Greenwood and Dusan Vlahovic playing together in a front three is rather appealing.

Club directors Cristiano Giuntoli and Giovanni Manna appear to be building a squad capable of playing 4-3-3 or 3-4-3, thus drifting away from the 3-5-2 formation adopted by Max Allegri. Therefore, the Bianconeri brass has identified the Englishman as the right profile for the role, explains the source.

Aside from his undisputed talent and ability to play on both wings, Giuntoli is intrigued by the player’s contractual situation, as his deal with Man Utd will expire in 2025.
