Liverpool Legends scored four back-to-back goals
Liverpool Legends made a remarkable comeback against Ajax Legends and won the charity match 4-2 at Anfield.
The charity match between these two teams was to raise money for the LFC Foundation and Forever Reds.
Ajax Legends were comfortably leading 2-0 at the end of the first half. Derk Boerrigter and Kiki Musampa scored a goal each for the away side. They fell behind in the second minute.
Gregory Vignal, Djibril Cisse, and Nabil El Zhar scored three goals in the second half before Fernando Torres wrapped up the match with a fourth goal.
Sven-Goran Eriksson realised his lifelong dream to manage Liverpool at Anfield. “A memory for life,” said Eriksson to LFC TV after the game. “Everybody was the winner today. It was beautiful, absolutely incredible. Everything from You’ll Never Walk Alone to the rest of the match.”
“I think we were the better team even in the first half. You always worry that you lose, but it was a very good first half, an extremely good second half. But the big winners were all of us.”
Saturday’s game was the third time Eriksson has taken charge of the home team at Anfield having overseen England’s wins over Finland and Paraguay in 2001 and 2002.
