Anthony Gordon has scored 10 goals in the league this season

In an effort to bolster their roster as much as possible in preparation for the 2024–2025 Premier League season, clubs are rapidly nearing the summer transfer window.

Despite all of the changes at Liverpool, it won’t be any different. Current Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is anticipated to take over for outgoing Jurgen Klopp this summer.

Michael Edwards, who oversees football operations for Fenway Sports Group, has rejoined the team. As the new sporting director, Richard Hughes joined the team from Bournemouth, and Julian Ward, the outgoing director, is expected to return in a different capacity.

Everyone will collaborate to develop a strategy for the summer transfer window. After identifying goals, work will be done to see whether any transactions can be accomplished.

It should come as no surprise that Liverpool are already being linked to multiple players in what might be a hectic summer as the transfer window draws closer. In light of that, let’s take a look at the most recent reports and rumours that have been circulating for the past few days.

According to The Daily Star, Anthony Gordon, a winger for Newcastle, is becoming more and more of a potential purchase for the Reds after making an impression at St. James’ Park this summer. This season, the former Everton player has tallied ten goals and dishevelled out ten more assists for Newcastle in the Premier League.

He is reportedly “near the top” of a list of possible targets for Anfield in the years after Jurgen Klopp. Gordon only joined Liverpool for £45 million last summer, so Liverpool may have trouble persuading Newcastle to sell.

It is anticipated that Eddie Howe’s squad would need to let go of one or two of its key players in order to fund any summer transfers and comply with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs). That might work to Liverpool’s advantage.
