Luis Diaz’s agent has claimed the forward will cost €120 million

El País Colombia reports that Luis Diaz (27), of Liverpool, is a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappé (25), who is scheduled to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

With Liverpool depending on Díaz’s embracing of the regulated chaos at the core of manager Jürgen Klopp’s style, the team is enjoying a winning streak. Liverpool is still chasing their first championship title since 2020.Although the winger has been excellent this season, there are still some doubts over whether Díaz will want to stay in the team after a new project starts, especially with Klopp expected to stand down at the end of the campaign.

PSG, who are rumoured to be supporters of the winger, might be tempted to try and lure the Colombian out of Liverpool with the promise of raising funds so that the next Liverpool manager can either renew the deals of Mohamed Salah (31) and Virgil Van Dijk (32) or better sculpt the team in their own image.

But Barcelona and AC Milan, two of the biggest teams in Europe, would compete with them for Díaz, as they wanted to add him to their offensive lineups.

Though Diaz is an important component of Liverpool’s long-term aspirations, the Spanish powerhouses have been informed he is not for transfer. Colombian reports indicate that Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, has communicated with Diaz’s advisors.

However, given Luis Diaz has been playing so well after recovering from his injury, any sign of a deal appears to be off the table. Even if Liverpool were willing to sell the Colombian winger, a deal would never happen since Barcelona is mired in debt.Laporta has called the price Liverpool are reportedly asking for their winger—between €120 million (£102 million) and €140 million (£120 million)—”unfeasible.” Diaz, 27, was another huge transfer triumph for Liverpool after joining for £37.5 million in January 2022.
