Manchester City injury news, suspension list for FA Cup final against Man United

Ederson is set to miss the FA Cup final versus United

Manchester City’s focus has shifted to the season’s last match of the season following an incredible victory on Sunday.

The Sky Blues defeated West Ham United 3-1 on the last day of the Premier League to become the first English team to win the top level in four straight seasons. After an incredible effort by Mohammed Kudus, City secured their place in history with goals from Phil Foden (brace) and Rodri (strike) in the second half.

Pep Guardiola, as usual, will not be content with just one title and hopes to add the FA Cup to his collection on Saturday. Their bitter rivals Manchester United stand in their way; they need to win in order to get into the Europa League the following season.

Manchester City injury news

Pep Guardiola knows exactly who won’t be in the Cup final game on Saturday. After suffering an eye socket fracture in a strange collision with Cristian Romero in City’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last week, Ederson will miss the match.

The Spanish manager made him leave even though he never wanted to. He is probably going to be replaced in the starting lineup by Stefan Ortega.

Jack Grealish hasn’t played since missing the match against Fulham due to illness. Since then, he hasn’t been utilised as a replacement, but the forward was used against West Ham and thus he should be available for the final alongside Nathan Ake.

Despite limping off during the first part of the team’s triumph over Fulham, the defender was well enough to start as a substitute but was not deployed. On Sunday, Ake returned to the pitch for a brief 19-minute cameo.

Besides Ederson, Guardiola will have his entire squad fit to face United in the final and hopes to defend the trophy after winning it last year.
