Manchester City injury update ahead of Aston Villa midweek clash

Walker, Ederson and Ake will miss the clash with the Villians
Pep Guardiola believes Kyle Walker, Ederson, and Nathan Ake are unlikely to play for Manchester City against Aston Villa, but he does claim that John Stones might be available. Pep Guardiola’s main group discussions in Together: Treble Champions On Wednesday, play the Villans at the Etihad.
Walker was substituted during the international break during England’s 1-0 loss to Brazil at Wembley, therefore he was unable to play the Arsenal match.

After an altercation with Darwin Nunez, Ederson was forced to leave the 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield. On the morning of the Arsenal match, he went back to training, but Guardiola stated he wasn’t prepared for the Gunners, so it appears he will be missing out again when we host Villa.

“I don’t think so. John maybe, the other two no chance. He [John] has to feel fully fit. But the injury was less than we expected. We’ll see. Maybe next games he’ll be ready.”
Adding an update on Ake, he said: “Injured. Hopefully he will be back soon. I don’t know exactly the timing. Next game he won’t be ready.”

With nine matches left in the campaign, Liverpool leads the table by two points thanks to the Reds’ victory and a 0-0 draw at the Etihad. Arsenal is one point ahead of City in second place.
