The Cityzens are ready to let their main mastermind head to the England cricket team for a short-term role

A very interesting news that sees a little sharing and merging of the football world with cricket in England. As we all know the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will kickstart on June 2. The defending champions, the England national cricket team will be doing their every bit to retain the title.

The tournament will be hosted by the West Indies and the USA in a combined effort to light up the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup.

Amongst a cluster of 20 teams, it is the United States who will go head to head against Canada’s national cricket team in the event opener. England fans will have to wait however as their opening clash is scheduled for June 4 against Scotland’s national cricket team.

Head coach of the England cricket team, Matthew Mott has taken all measures possible to try and retain the T20 World Cup title. In an interesting move, Mott has hired a former team psychologist for a short-term cause. David Young is the psychologist in question who was previously a member of England’s cricket crew from 2016 to 2020.

After that Young switched sports to join Premier League giants Manchester City. No wonder why City have managed to win four successive league titles since his appointment. The Cityzens have already secured the 2023-24 PL title while also having played their final league game against West Ham United.

Pep Guardiola’s team now have an FA Cup final showdown lined up for this Saturday against rivals Manchester United. Young will be guiding the City players as to how to deal with things on and off the pitch mentally. Later after the final at Wembley Stadium, with Man City’s approval secured, the world-class psychologist will join the England cricket team once again but this time for a short-term stint.

Basically, Mott greatly applauds the mastermind for his help in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup winning run. The cricket coach thus wants to use David Young to once again give him the edge in this T20 format. Young is reportedly going to join the England cricket squad on Monday.
