Foden has 11 goals this season in the Premier League

According to Football Insider, Phil Foden wants to extend his stay at Manchester City with an incredible new contract that will equal the highest-paid players in the league and at the club.

The 23-year-old attacker is scheduled to begin negotiations for an extension to his current contract, which he has three years left to play at the Etihad Stadium.

In order to match the top City earnings, Foden demands a pay increase in his new deal.

It is acknowledged that all sides are prepared to reach an agreement, with City keen to hang onto their academy star.

In 2022, Foden agreed to a contract extension that would keep him at City until 2027 and reportedly raise his pay to £200,000 per week.

This season, the England international has emerged as one of Pep Guardiola’s best players, making 40 appearances in all categories and hitting 18 goals.

This week, Guardiola showered the young player with compliments, calling him “the best player in the Premier League right now.”

Foden collected 12 major medals in his seven-year tenure with the City’s first squad, winning the Champions League and five Premier League crowns.

If Foden accepts a new, lucrative contract, his pay will increase the £423 million salary bill that City made history in 2022–2023 as reported in their financial statements. In other reports, Man City is ready for this summer’s £100 million+ Saudi Arabia bid.
