The Brazilian winger is now doubtful for the Everton clash.
Due to an injury sustained during training, Matheus Cunha is doubtful for Monday’s Premier League match between Manchester United and Everton.
The Brazilian missed a planned appearance to turn on Christmas lights in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, on Saturday night after suffering what is being called a “minor knock” during a workout.
Matheus Cunha may still be deemed fit for Everton’s Monday visit to Old Trafford because the issue is not considered to be severe. Whether this will impact Cunha’s availability for the Everton game has not yet been made public by United.

However, club insiders later downplayed concerns that Matheus Cunha would be out for a long time.
The 26-year-old’s absence will be a huge blow for the club as they are also going to be without another summer signing, Benjamin Sesko.

Cunha’s injury was made public when Visit Altrincham, the organisers of Altrincham’s Christmas lights switch-on, announced on social media that the former Wolves attacker had to withdraw from the event for “medical reasons” and “an accident in training.”
He has been a vital member of Ruben Amorim’s squad this season, scoring once in 11 games after moving from Molineux for £62.5 million in the summer. Amorim would have to make significant changes if Cunha is ultimately unavailable for the game on Monday.
Mason Mount would be a contender, but the pair of Joshua Zirkzee and Kobbie Mainoo might be selected to start for Amorim in the Premier League for the first time this season.
Shea Lacey, an England Under-20 international who has performed well in United’s Premier League 2 squad this season, may potentially be called up.
