Marcus Rashford reacts to missing out on England's Euro 2024 provisional squad

Southgate will make changes to the squad before the tournament officially begins
Marcus Rashford did not receive a call-up for England’s provisional squad ahead of the Euro 2024 tournament. The Forward reacted to the news with a story on Instagram where he posted the Three Lions squad with the caption ”Wishing Gareth and the boys all the best for the up and coming tournament.”
Rashford, who has been a vital member of England‘s squad under Southgate and was included in the teams for each of the past two World Cups in 2018 and 2022 as well as the Euros in 2021, is the primary player left out.
Despite scoring 30 goals in every tournament during the prior season, the 26-year-old has only managed eight goals for Erik ten Hag’s United this season.
The development has improved for Palace’s Eze and Wharton, who have performed well at Selhurst Park in the second part of the current campaign under new boss Oliver Glasner.
This season, he participated in seven England matches before being benched against Belgium in March. When Southgate announces his final team of up to 26 players for the championship in Germany, which is due at midnight on June 7th, he will need to drop at least seven players.

In addition to left-back Luke Shaw and midfielder Kobbie Mainoo from Manchester United, the additional players who made the cut were forward Jarrod Bowen of West Ham, winger Jack Grealish of Manchester City, and attacker Ivan Toney of Brentford.
The 19-year-old Mainoo represented England in friendlies against Brazil and Belgium in March. This season, he has appeared in 31 games for Manchester United and netted four goals.
Shaw has been sidelined since February due to a muscular ailment. In preparation for their friendlies against Bosnia-Herzegovina on June 3 and Iceland on June 7, the training team will assemble on Wednesday, May 29.
Then, on June 16, Southgate’s team will play Serbia in Gelsenkirchen as part of Group C of the Euro 2024 competition.
In addition to Rashford and Henderson, Ben White, Eric Dier, Reece James, Jadon Sancho, Dominic Solanke, Raheem Sterling, and Ben Chilwell are among the other prominent absentees.
