Oranje will face Germany and Scotland in March

After missing a year of international activity owing to a series of ailments, Memphis Depay, a forward, was chosen in the Netherlands team a few days after his late goal helped Atlético Madrid advance to the Champions League quarterfinals.

In 88 international matches, Depay has scored 44 goals, second only to Robin van Persie’s 50 goals for Oranje.Georginio Wijnaldum, a midfielder for Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League and a former star of Liverpool, is also making his way back to the Dutch team after a year away. Wijnaldum, who has played in 90 international matches, is among the team’s most seasoned players.

The 26-man team was unveiled in advance of the European Championship in Germany this summer, for meetings against Scotland and Germany.Quinten Timber, a midfielder for Feyenoord, made his debut in Ronald Koeman’s team alongside the two veteran players who returned.Legendary Dutch team Ajax, who are having difficulty in the Eredivisie this year due to injuries to key players, only contributed one person to the team: Brian Brobbey, a striker.

On March 22, the Netherlands faces Scotland in Amsterdam; four days later, they fly to Frankfurt for a match in Germany.

After Hansi Flick was fired in September, Nagelsmann was appointed manager of Germany. He experienced an unsuccessful beginning, winning and drawing while on a trip to the United States in October, then losing two games in a row in Austria and at home against Turkey in November. With the Euros less than 100 days away, there is increasing expectation in Germany for Nagelsmann and his players to start performing.

In their final planned games until the championship in June, Germany travels to France on March 23 and then hosts the Netherlands three days later.

On June 14, the Germans play Scotland in the opening match of the Euros. They also play Switzerland and Hungary in Group A.
