Nigeria will face Ghana and Mali in Match international games
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have confirmed that later in March, during the FIFA international break, Nigeria’s Super Eagles will play the Black Stars of Ghana and the Eagles of Mail.
Earlier in the international break, the Super Eagles were supposed to meet World Champions Argentina in the United States; however, the game was called off because the Nigerian team was unable to obtain American visas.
As a result, the NFF had to find another way to keep the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) silver medalist interested during the interval. Thus, the federation made the decision to revive Nigeria and Ghana’s football rivalry in Morocco.
Nigeria’s next match is scheduled to take place at the Grand Stade de Marrakech in Morocco on March 22 against Ghana, and on March 26 against Mali. The football body has also announced a 26-man roster for the two matches, with former Bendel Insurance employee Benjamin Tianimu and Luton Town defender Gabriel Osho—who was born in England to Nigerian parents—earning their first-ever calls up to the national squad.
