The Brazilian’s current PSG contract will end in 2028
Club captain Marquinhos (29) may be permitted to depart the club as Paris Saint-Germain looks to bolster their defence at the start of next season, per a report from L’Équipe.
Marquinhos has missed recent weeks of action due to an injury. Lucas Hernandez and Lucas Beraldo have become more assured in the middle of defence during his absence.
PSG are hoping to spend a lot of money on a defender in the summer. Leny Yoro (18) of Lille OSC is supposedly Les Parisiens’ main aim, but specific gametime guarantees would need to be given in order to entice him to the Parc des Princes.
That playing time might mean that Marquinhos’ place in the starting lineup is compromised. When the season began, club administrators reportedly wanted to take away the Brazilian international’s captaincy, further undermining his authority.
After two rounds of player vote, he was ultimately retained as captain, although it was evident that the club’s higher officials were eager to see him step down from the position.

In addition, the capital club is eager to get a new centre-back in the summer, and Marquinhos may have to make room for Leny Yoro of LOSC Lille.According to the article, Marquinhos, who turns 30 this year, will be considered for a roster spot by elite European teams like Chelsea and Manchester United, who are trying to strengthen their defence.
Marquinhos’ transfer value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €60 million, despite his contract expiring in 2028.
