High chances of the Blues and Yellow securing all three points.

UEFA Euro 2024 has already begun, so many exciting and nail-biting matches have happened and so many are on the way. One such match is going to be between Romania and Ukraine. These teams belong to Group E and haven’t played any match yet.

The two other formidable opponents in their group are Belgium and Slovakia. Both the teams are equally equipped with many talented and experienced players, however, Ukraine are currently the favourite for the upcoming match.

If we compare the last few matches of both the teams then Romania on one side have given consistently average performances, whereas Ukraine on the other side have given winning results. Both teams have a rich football history as they started playing internationally from the 1920s.

Today, comparing FIFA rankings of both the teams, Romania stand at 46th spot, whereas Ukraine is at 22nd. It will be the seventh face-off between both the teams and securing winning points will be their priority, since it will help them to move further in the tournament.

Kick-Off:

Monday, 17 June at 6:30 PM (IST)

Location: Munich Football Arena (Allianz Arena), Munich, Germany

Form:

Romania (Last five international matches): D-D-L-D-W

Ukraine (Last five international matches): W-L-D-W-W

Players to Watch

Florinel Coman (Romania)

Florinel Coman, a 26-years-old attacking midfielder has a lot under his portfolio. He is one of the best players in his national team as well as his club FCSB. In Superliga, while playing for FCSB in 34 matches in the 2023-24 season, Coman scored 18 goals and assisted 10 times.

His gameplay is aggressive, he received red cards twice and multiple yellow cards. However, he is the one who is capable of making a difference against Ukraine

Mykhailo Mudryk (Ukraine)

This 23-year-old Ukrainian footballer plays as both a midfielder and a winger. He is quick and has tremendous skills under his sleeves. Mudryk plays for Chelsea in the Premier League and while playing for them in 31 matches, he scored five times and also assisted twice.

Also in the last qualifier against Iceland, he scored for his national team. He’s the one, on which Romanian defenders should keep an eye.

Both teams are matched in terms of abilities, but the difference is the stats and the momentum that the team is carrying with them. Here, Ukraine have got the upper hand, since they have won the last three matches against Romania and also most importantly, they are scoring goals.

In the case of Romania, they are losing much, but they are continuously failing to score goals against their opponents. Therefore, the Blues and Yellow are expected to win the match.
