Sir Jim Ratcliffe introduces five new transfer rules at Manchester United

The Red Devils will look to add few names in the summer

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has introduced some new transfer policies at Manchester United. The manager will be following a set of guidelines issued by the owners for the transfer windows.

Strict guidelines that the incoming manager of Manchester United must follow, can disqualify applicants from consideration.

Incompetent As they attempt to come to an agreement on a replacement, the Red Devils executives have not yet formally fired Erik ten Hag.

Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter, Thomas Tuchel, Gareth Southgate, Thomas Frank and Kieran McKenna are all still contenders to take charge at Old Trafford this summer.

However, after Ten Hag’s victory against Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday, the Manchester United leadership were shocked by the enthusiasm shown by the incumbent.

From here on, the person occupying the hot seat has to abide by several guidelines that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his close associates feel will advance the club.

It entails, any new manager adhering to a playbook that the new technical director, Jason Wilcox, has established and that will be implemented at all team levels.

To assemble a team, that is faster, stronger and more fit, new co-owner Ratcliffe will be asking the future manager to approve a recruitment strategy that revolves around signing five players under the age of 25 this summer.

Rather than throwing money at Galacticos, the Ineos executive prefers to find diamonds that will shine for the Red Devils in the future.

When France’s World Cup winner, Kylian Mbappe declared he was leaving Paris Saint-Germain after the season, Ratcliffe made it obvious that he was going to avoid being involved in high-profile auctions by declining the opportunity to even bid for the player.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement, in 2013, United have spent about £1.5 billion on new players. However, in that period, they have only gotten worse. Under current head coach Erik ten Hag, their eighth-place league finish this season is their lowest in thirty-four years.

Omar Berrada, a new CEO that Ratcliffe hired, was snatched away from Manchester City. To take over as the sporting director, Dan Ashworth is being lured away from Newcastle United.

Top five rules at Manchester United under Sir Jim Ratcliffe

  • Age limit of 25 for new signings
  • No Galacticos
  • Style of play to be set by technical director Jason Wilcox
  • Manager to be asked what position he wants to sign not what player
  • Ineos to send a list of three signings per position for manager to choose from
