FC Seoul coach blasts Jesse Lingard’s training intensity

Jesse Lingard’s lack of commitment this season has been heavily criticised by FC Seoul’s boss, who said the forward “doesn’t fight and doesn’t run.”

The 31-year-old, who was released from his Nottingham Forest deal at the end of the previous season, made an unexpected move towards the South Korean club in February. Thus far in the new K-League season, Seoul has only won one of their first four games, making it a challenging moment for him.

Furthermore, manager Kim Ki-dong claims that Lingard’s lack of effort is the reason he is not thrilled with the former Manchester United forward.Only two weeks have passed since Ki-dong initially attacked Lingard’s work ethic after Seoul defeated Jeju.

‘I’ve been thinking a lot about removing Jesse (Lingard). I don’t think a player who doesn’t run for a few minutes is a football player,’ Ki-dong said.

‘If he doesn’t fight, and doesn’t run better than the player who runs for 90 minutes? If you’re going to play soccer in the name, shouldn’t you just take the retired players?’

Since he hasn’t played professionally in more than six months, Lingard has been a frequent replacement as he works to regain his fitness. He was left off the bench as Seoul’s dismal season began on Sunday with a 1-1 draw against Gangwon. The former England international has suffered a setback that will be devastating to him—a meniscus injury, according to Mail Sport.Although Lingard’s ailment isn’t thought to be significant, it’s possible that FC Seoul’s medical staff has decided to put him out of commission for a week in order to prevent further damage.

Although Lingard’s annual salary from Seoul is said to be over £910,000, he has numerous other business ventures that augment his earnings, such as a clothing line and a chain of jerk chicken restaurants. Furthermore, Lingard, who gave a gushing speech about his new club at its introduction, seems to fit in South Korea.
