When does UEFA Euro 2024 start?
Germany will host the tournament
The 17th edition of the UEFA Euro will be contested in Germany in the summer of 2024. A total of 24 teams have qualified for UEFA Euro 2024, to lift the trophy for their nation.
This is the third time that Germany are hosting the tournament. Italy are the defending champions of Europe. They won the 2020 final against England on penalties.
All 24 teams have made it to the final tournament. 21 teams were selected after the qualification rounds were over. The remaining three spots were filled after the play-off rounds.
Georgia, Ukraine and Poland made it through from the play-off stages. The Georgian team will play in the Euros for the first time in their history.
Hosts Germany will make their 14th appearance in the tournament. This is the most by any nation in the competition’s history. Spain are behind them on 12 appearances.
The teams are divided into six groups. The top two teams will make it to the knockout stage of the tournament. Teams finishing third in their groups will have a chance to make it to the next round. The four best teams finishing third in the table will qualify for the knockouts.
Some of the big superstars will clash in the upcoming tournament in the summer.
