Copa America will have an Eagle as their mascot in the competition.

In two weeks, the first whistle blows, as the Copa América 2024 gets ready to begin on June 20th. The excitement is building to an explosive level.

This year, the United States will host the most prestigious South American national team event, which promises to be an amazing football spectacle and a dynamic confluence of cultures.

There will be high-stakes games from the start of the competition thanks to the enticing mix of groups that the draw has created. Fans can expect a compelling and intense series of games as teams compete for one of the prized positions in the next round. Each game will be crucial.

Six teams from the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) and ten from the South American Soccer Confederation (Conmebol) will compete in this first-of-a-kind international Copa América 2024.

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica and Canada are the teams competing this year; their unique mix contributes to the tournament’s attractiveness on a global scale.

Copa América 2024 will highlight culture and heritage in addition to football. Several icons have been introduced by the tournament organisers to capture the essence of the occasion.

The eagle that serves as the official mascot, Captain, represents the special fusion of South American football fervour with the energetic American atmosphere.

In addition, the tournament’s official song has been revealed. Global superstars Shakira and Cardi B’s collaboration “Puntería” will serve as the Copa América 2024 soundtrack.

It is anticipated that the song will energise both spectators and competitors, encapsulating the thrill and competitive spirit. Shakira stated, “It’s a great pop song for the summer, featuring the amazing Cardi B, and it’s an honour that it’s the soundtrack of this huge cultural event.”
