Arsenal forward pulls out of England squad with injury
Ahead of Arsenal’s hectic end-of-season schedule, Bukayo Saka’s precautionary departure from the England camp has raised concerns about his injury situation.
Supporters of Arsenal will share manager Mikel Arteta’s thinking, crossing their fingers that their players return from international duty in perfect health.
The Gunners’ first match following the international break is a title match at the home of Manchester City, the current champions. Arsenal will have to be at full capacity to give the tormentors from last season as good of a game as possible, considering the importance of the match.
Aaron Ramsdale and Declan Rice are both abroad on England duty. Spain’s first-choice custodian David Raya and Norway’s skipper Martin Odegaard are absent from international duty.
Any minor hiccups or adjustments at this point in the season may be very costly for Arsenal, as Arteta seeks to put an end to the team’s protracted search for its first league championship since 2004.

In the two forthcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium, respectively, the Gunners No. 7 will not play. The FA issued a brief statement confirming the news, which said:
“Bukayo Saka has left the England camp and returned to his club for continued rehabilitation. The Arsenal forward reported to St. George’s Park with an injury and has been unable to participate in training. No further replacements are planned as a 25-man England squad continue their preparation for the forthcoming internationals with Brazil and Belgium.”
It’s unclear if Arsenal are genuinely trying to protect their best player before the last drive for the crown, or if the Gunners academy graduate is genuinely carrying a knock.
Naturally, when players leave, others have more opportunity. Saka’s right-wing berth will likely be occupied by Phil Foden, which may allow Marcus Rashford or Anthony Gordon to make an impression on the left. Alternatively, Jarrod Bowen may enter off the right wing and display the form that has won him 14 goals in the Premier League this year.
