Kane scored 44 goals for Bayern in all competition
Harry Kane’s first season at Bayern Munich was extremely challenging. The Englishman moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Bavaria with the intention of winning trophies, but he will once again have no medals to show for his efforts.
The bad news, though, might not end there for Kane as Bild claims that there is growing uncertainty around his chances of competing in EURO 2024. The 30-year-old was pulled off of Bayern’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid due to a back ailment.
Even though the injury was first thought to be merely a knock, Kane hasn’t played for Der Rekordmeister since it happened. Thomas Tuchel provided some context into the situation recently.
“Harry is in medical treatment with his personal doctor. He can’t travel with us” to Hoffenheim, Tuchel told reporters on Friday. “It was already questionable in Madrid, as you might have noticed.
“In Madrid, it was borderline. We tried injections and treatments. The back has completely closed. It has gotten worse and kept breaking out in small, everyday movements. There’s no chance he’s even training.”

Since England’s competition is scheduled to begin on June 16, there is hope—especially in Kane’s case—that he will recover in time. Nevertheless, how much would Kane’s injury impact England’s prospects of winning EURO 2024 if he is unable to recover in time?
At the Euros, England is paired with Denmark, Serbia, and Slovenia. On Tuesday, tournament head coach Gareth Southgate will announce his preliminary team.
Kane, who was injured and missed Bayern’s last league match against VfL Wolfsburg, has recorded 44 goals in the inaugural campaign of the German team across all competitions, featuring four hat tricks in the Bundesliga.
The Polish forward finished the 2020–21 league season with 41 goals, and Kane was only five goals shy of the record with 36 goals—an incredible accomplishment nonetheless.
