Messi has scored a goal in total in the last two pre-season games.

Tonight, Inter Miami will continue their preseason tour by playing Sporting San Miguelito in a friendly at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama.

The first two preseason matches for Javier Mascherano’s team ended in draws with Universitario de Deportes and Club America. However, they managed to prevail in penalties in both of them.

With Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi spearheading the attack, it appears like Mascherano intends to use a 4-4-2 formation. After giving up two goals against Club America, he will be pleased with the clean sheet but disappointed that the team did not score against Universitario de Deportes.

Inter Miami will have to work on their vulnerable defence as they have regularly conceded goals easily. They were lucky to not let in a goal because of Universitario de Deportes’ wasteful chances which forced penalties.

Lionel Messi’s inspired Inter Miami have been playing entertaining football. The Argentine was also greeted with loud applause in the last game as he continues to influence a large crowd in every match.

Will Lionel Messi play tonight?

Messi should once again be in the starting lineup when Inter Miami play Panama’s Sporting San Miguelito in a pre-season friendly game. The former Barcelona player opened his first pre-season match with a goal, but couldn’t find the back of the net in the next one.

However, his presence on the field is what matters. He still remains the most influential player in the match and will once again be ready to steer his side to a third pre-season win.

Inter Miami have managed to prevail in the earlier games through spot-kicks. It was the second time they had to win the match on penalties. With Miami once again facing a South American team it will certainly be a difficult challenge for Mascherano’s men as they hope to end their pre-season unfazed and soon start their new MLS season’s preparation.
