La Roja are three-time European Champions.

The Spain national football team are yet again set to blend youth with experience as they aim to win the upcoming Euro 2024. They will face a fight to make it out of their group, however, having been drawn alongside defending European champions Italy and fellow Nations League finalists Croatia.

Head coach Luis de la Fuente could not afford any missteps when it came to selecting his team for the trip to Germany. Euro 2024 represents a new opportunity for the Spain squad, with some talented individuals ready to do the business. Here is how the Spanish national team can lineup in the Euro 2024:

Spain Predicted Lineup (Formation 4-2-3-1):

Goalkeeper: Unai Simon

Unai Simon has proven himself to be a good communicator and organizer of the defence. He is vocal at the back and has a good sense of defensive formations. Simon is also an authoritative presence at the back.

He comes in confidently to claim the ball where he feels it is his and throws himself into such situations without fear. He plays an integral part of Spain‘s build-up from the back and is also very comfortable shooting long balls, overall he is the perfect choice to start the matches in Euro.

Right Back: Dani Carvajal

He is a typical Spanish full-back- small, fast and full of attacking spirit. He prefers to support the attack with his crosses, forward runs and passes. On or off the ball, Carvajal is constantly running, constantly pressing the opponents.

Dani Carvajal constantly moves down the right wing and contributes in the final third of the pitch. His other strength is his ability to regain his position after his team loses the ball, showcasing his energy to get back into his right-back slot. His speed in tracking back is one reason for his great success from tackles.

Center Back: Robin Le Normand

Robin Le Normand isn’t exactly the tallest centre-back you will come across, but is imperious in the air. He is also really good at winning ground duels and with the ball is one of the best in Spain. He does not shy away from making hard tackles on the opponents and most of the time he wins the challenges, he has all the qualities in him to be a starter in the Spain squad for the Euro 2024.

Center Back: Aymeric Laporte

Laporte is a big, physically domineering central defender, but despite his sizeable frame, he is still relatively agile and far from slow. He is comfortable both in and out of possession and plays an important role for his team in both phases.

He is not a defender who simply circulates the ball from side to side instead he consistently looks for a route to a more advanced teammate. Aymeric Laporte plays the majority of his passes short but he is also adept over both medium and long range. Even though he is no longer playing in Europe, still he is a quality player for the Spain team.

Left Back: Alejandro Grimaldo

The Spaniard is an attacking full-back and offers a lot of quality. Alex Grimaldo is a specialist when it comes to set-pieces and is not shy about taking shots at the opposition goal. Grimaldo is not a very good defender but does his work whenever he is needed. His attacking quality is what makes him the most dangerous full-back in the world, which will be in favour of Spain.

Central Midfield: Rodri

Rodri is capable of covering a large playing area in both attacking and defensive phases, without the need for additional support from a teammate. He has improved his decision-making very well and can control the tempo and intensity of the match all by himself.

The impact which he brings with him in different phases of possession helps the team to perform much better. He is physically strong enough to win the ball back and also good at covering the space left by his teammates. His leadership in the midfield will be important for Spain’s success in the tournament.

Central Midfield: Pedri

Pedri is versatile, consistently looking to receive the ball to feet, and exceptional at finding and making the most of space in advanced areas. He has made a quick rise to the top and is capable of spotting space to move into.

The midfielder is agile and quick enough to move at high speed. He can carry the ball at speed and change direction with great skill, manipulating the ball impressively to keep it away from his opponent. He will play a crucial role in the upcoming tournament for sure.

Right Wing: Nico Williams

Nico Williams utilizes his speed and dribbling skills to outmanoeuvre defenders, providing crosses and taking shots. He can on the right, cutting inside to unleash powerful shots with his dominant foot. Known for his involvement in team plays, he combines well with teammates, offering support and displaying versatility by changing positions with other attackers. He will play a key role in the attacking department for sure for Spain.

Spain predicted lineup for UEFA Euro 2024

Center Attacking Midfield: Dani Olmo

A player who stands out with his tactical intelligence, ability to find a killer pass and willingness to take on opponents. Olmo is particularly effective when dribbling one-on-one, he is really good at passing the ball, and his passing accuracy is always the highest in Europe. The way he can find the space and break the defences makes him one of the most lethal players in the Spain squad.

Left Wing: Lamine Yamal

He is a highly creative player with flawless technical abilities. Great dribble, is agile, seeks to cut inside in almost every play, is very strong in 1v1 situations, is unpredictable and is very confident in his abilities. Lamine Yamal is a good finisher, has great vision, making good decisions in most plays, something very difficult for a player his age.

His dribbling prowess isn’t only eye-catching but efficient and purposeful, his dribbles more often than not lead to a direct attacking threat. He’s also a two-footed dribbler and as such makes his dribbling angles all the more unpredictable for any marker to decipher.

Center Forward: Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata’s foremost strengths are of course his ability to play short, one-touch passing to link up with players. He is very adept at finding acute passing angles for midfielders and defenders to progress the ball forward in buildup play. Morata is one of the most tactically intelligent players, his run-making and ability to recognize, create and attack space is of the highest quality.

Morata doesn’t remain confined to the central position, but drifts to the halfspaces, looking for passes, and creating space for the midfielders to run into. His performance will matter a lot since in the last Euro he was not able to perform as per expectations for the Spain team.
