Formula 1 Brazilian GP: Where & how to watch?

The Formula 1 (F1) Brazilian GP is perhaps the most exciting race on the calendar, thanks in part to its track, which features high-speed corners and a long straight for overtaking. Furthermore, with the addition of the Sprint format to the circuit, let’s take a preview of the Brazilian GP.

Built-in 1938, the 4.309 km Interlagos circuit, like many pre-World War II tracks, features banked corners. Drivers begin their lap on a half-oval and navigate 15 turns, most of which are high-speed and elevated, making it a challenging drive.

First win of the season for Lewis Hamilton

Recalling last year’s Brazilian GP, it was Mercedes teammate George Russell who clinched his maiden F1 victory while fending off his teammate Hamilton. However, this year, Hamilton has stepped up his game as he leads both in terms of points and race pace. Therefore, if Hamilton is to win a race this season, it’s likely to be at the Interlagos circuit, considering the support he gets in his second home.

Furthermore, following his excellent second-place finish in Mexico, Hamilton is also closing in on Perez in the driver’s championship. This could be detrimental for the Mexican driver since his team has reportedly given him an ultimatum: maintain second place in the championship or be replaced by Ricciardo.

Ricciardo’s performance

Perhaps the most exciting development out of the Mexico GP was Daniel Ricciardo’s form since he not only made it to Q1 but also out-qualified Checo Perez in the 8th fastest car on the circuit. Additionally, Ricciardo’s performance has propelled AlphaTauri from last place to 8th, ahead of Alpha Romeo.

However, this could again pressure Perez, who had a challenging Mexican GP after crashing into Leclerc at turn 1.

Aston Martin’s performance

Aston Martin’s fall from being the second-fastest car on the track to now being behind AlphaTauri in terms of pace has been shocking. Moreover, considering the fact that even after upgrading the car in the Mexican GP, both drivers were out of the points suggests that the team has been out-developed by almost everyone on the track.

Weather for the Brazilian GP

While the weather conditions can change anytime during the day, the forecast currently suggests mixed conditions for the race, with a likelihood of rain on Friday and Saturday, but race day seems to be bright and sunny.
