A new era for Miami motorsport began with the first race in May 2022.
Get ready for the Miami GP as it returns for the third time! The race will happen at the new Miami International Autodrome, built around the famous Hard Rock Stadium.
The circuit, constructed specifically for the inaugural race in 2022, winds its way around the iconic Hard Rock Stadium, home to the Miami Dolphins NFL team.
It has been a difficult and drawn-out road to bring Formula 1 back to Miami. There has been a great desire to organize a Grand Prix in this dynamic city ever since Liberty Media acquired the sport in 2017. To the surprise of fans everywhere, the event was formally confirmed to return to the calendar in April 2021, despite more than a few obstacles encountered along the road.
A new era for Miami motorsport began with the first race in May 2022.
This year’s event makes it the fourth visit to Florida in F1 history, with three races scheduled in the United States for the first time since 2023.
What’s the circuit like?
The circuit features the famous Hard Rock Stadium at its epicenter, providing a street-track spectacle.
With 19 turns, 3 straights, and 3 DRS zones, the 5.41-kilometre circuit allows for high speeds of more than 340 km/h.
The course is famous for its elevation variations, especially between Turns 13 and 16, where it crosses an exit ramp and passes under many flyovers over rough terrain. With an uphill approach, a crest in the center, and a downhill departure, the chicane at Turns 14–15 adds even more excitement.
