Max Verstappen’s complete record at F1 Abu Dhabi GP

Max Verstappen is one of the most successful drivers at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Falling behind Lando Norris in the pecking order by 2 points, Max Verstappen ended the 2025 season second in the F1 standings after the Abu Dhabi GP. The four-time world champion failed to win a fifth World title, a record previously matched only by Michael Schumacher.
The Dutch driver made his Formula One racing debut in March 2015 at the Australian Grand Prix with Scuderia Toro Rosso, at the age of 17 years and 166 days. Verstappen was under contract with the Red Bull Junior Team when he participated in his first race alongside Toro Rosso teammate Carlos Sainz Jr.
He later replaced Daniil Kvyat at Red Bull in May 2016, as the Russian driver was sent to Toro Rosso. Red Bull’s decision to trust a teenage driver caused a stir among the entire F1 community; however, Verstappen soon silenced all his critics with his historic triumph at the 2016 Spanish GP, becoming the youngest driver in history to win a Grand Prix and secure a podium finish.
Verstappen is also the only player to win a race in the championship before turning 21, and his record still seems unlikely to be broken in the near future.
Since then, he hasn’t looked back and has become a key name in the championship. The Dutchman has also solidified his position similarly at Yas Marina with a dominant display of his skillset and tenacity.
Max Verstappen is one of the most successful drivers in Abu Dhabi GP history, with five wins; he is tied with F1 veteran Lewis Hamilton, who has triumphed on five occasions.
The Dutch driver made his Abu Dhabi debut in 2015 with the Scuderia Toro Rosso-Renault team, where he finished 16th. However, after a couple of years of improvement and two consecutive podium finishes in 2018 and 2019, Verstappen won his first race at Yas Marina in 2020 and later went on to dominate the circuit for three more years.
However, his reign in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) came to an end last season, when Lando Norris secured his maiden title.
