No 60fps mods now

There is no doubt that Bloodborne is the most beloved game among PlayStation players and gamers. They have been waiting for a long time to get a new 60fps patch or a PC port for this game. However, until now, there have been no new updates for the game, as Hidetaka Miyazaki has stated that he loves the game and doesn’t want anyone to touch it.

Recently, a well-known modder, Lance McDonald, who created the 60fps mod for this game, was sent a DMCA notice by Sony. Let’s take a closer look at the details in this article

The DMCA Notice

Lance McDonald posted on X (previously Twitter) that he has received a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown notification from Sony Interactive Entertainment. This notification caused him to erase all online connections to the fix. In his post, McDonald stated, “On February 21st, 2021, I created and released a patch for Bloodborne which makes the game run at 60fps. Today I received a DMCA takedown notification on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment asking that I remove links to the patch I posted on the internet, so I’ve now done so.”

Community speculations

There is no doubt that the whole community reacted to this on social media. Some believe that Sony still intends to release a 60 fps patch note and PC port in the future. Since Miyazaki is very busy and wants no one to touch that game, maybe in the future he will personally work on this project.

Others are hoping that this may hint at a remaster or possibly a remake, especially when the game’s tenth anniversary approaches in March 2025.

There is also the possibility that Sony is simply preserving its intellectual property, with no further ramifications for future Bloodborne updates. What do you guys think about this and do you think we will ever get 60 fps patch notes on Bloodborne in the future? Do share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
