Bungie's Marathon community playtest in December 2025: How to join, platforms & more details

Extraction shooter genre has recently started to get more popular among fans and gamers. Bungie’s Marathon, a FPS extraction shooter game, is now heading for another community playtest.

It recently completed the closed beta playtest and got some positive feedback from the players who participated in it. Let’s check out more details about the upcoming playtest, how to join and more details in this article.

Bungie’s Marathon community playtest details & how to join

Bungie’s Marathon community playtest is scheduled for December 12-15, 2025, from 2 PM PT to 8 PM PT each day. This will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam.

This will be an NDA playtest, which means you can’t talk or capture any gameplay or details.

Just visit the official Bungie website, select your platform and sign up for the playtest. You will receive an email from Bungie if you are selected for the playtest.

For now, this playtest will only be for the North America region. There is no information on whether the playtest will come to other regions as well or not.

If you are registering for PC, here are the minimum system requirements:

• Processor: Intel Core i5-6600
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
• RAM: 8GB RAM

Conclusion

Sony PlayStation and Bungie have revealed that they are looking forward to releasing the game before March 31, 2026. Still, we don’t have the exact release date yet.

Maybe, after this upcoming community playtest, we might get the official release date for the game. With ARC Raiders and Escape from Tarkov success, Bungie needs to grab the trend and players who are currently interested in playing an extraction shooter.
