Echoes of the End: 14-15 hour story, 20 unique enemies, releasing today!

New indie game from Myrkur Games

Myrkur Games is all ready to drop their game, Echoes of the End, on August 12, 2025. This game was originally crafted by 16 developers, which later grew to 40.

Journey across 10 chapters with fresh mechanics

Kristjánsson shared the information that the main story clocks around 14 to 15 hours, based on playtest feedback. That’s a pretty good length for an indie game.

The game spans 10 chapters, with each of them offering different environments and visuals to provide a fantasy epic adventure.

“We wanted players to travel through diverse biomes, making it visually thrilling while introducing unique mechanics,”

According to Kristjánsson, every chapter is going to introduce a new gameplay element and fresh mechanics, which evolve as you progress.

For example, Ryn, the protagonist, uses swordplay and magic like a hammer, whereas her partner, Abram Finley, an adventurer, solves difficulties in a different way. This powerful partnership takes on difficulties specific to each biome’s story and surroundings.

Kristjánsson also promised fans that from the first two chapters, you will start facing noticeable changes and a shift in the gameplay and mechanics.

20 unique enemies and epic bosses

Echoes of the End is going to feature 20 unique enemies, with many of them linked to each chapter’s theme.

“You might meet an enemy in one chapter and never see it again,” Kristjánsson said.

The game follows Ryn and Abram’s journey to rescue her brother across the Iceland-inspired country of Aema, combining battle with exploration.
