60 fps is only a dream
The PS5 Pro is about to launch on November 7, 2024 and there have been many speculations related to its performance and graphics. The main concerns come from the GTA 6 fans, who want to know whether the new console can run the game at 60 fps or not.
And the answers and opinions of the industry tech specialists don’t seem very good towards it. Let’s check out more details in this article.
GTA 6 on PS5 Pro
Tech experts, including those at Digital Foundry, are skeptical about the PlayStation 5 Pro’s ability to run GTA 6 at 60 frames per second. The main reason given is that the CPU in the PS5 Pro hasn’t been considerably updated, and GTA 6 is predicted to be extremely CPU-intensive due to its sophisticated simulation and open-world features.
Given the CPU restrictions, the PS5 Pro is unlikely to reach a frame rate of 60 fps if the regular PS5 version of GTA 6 targets 30 fps. Most likely it would touch 30-40 fps.
Although it has a High CPU Frequency Mode and increases a 10% increase in clock speed over the standard PS5, it still won’t be able to touch the 60 fps.

Mixed reactions
Among the fans and gamers, there are mixed reactions towards this console for the GTA game. While, some believe that PS5 Pro might be the best console to play the GTA 6 due to its enhanced GPU, potentially offering better graphical fidelity and performance settings even if not at 60 fps.
Others don’t care about it and are happy with their current PS5. Also, some might wait for years for the game to arrive on PC to truly enjoy the game on the best system.
In conclusion, the PS5 Pro might provide some improvements related to graphics for the game despite not being able to provide 60 fps. However, Rockstar may introduce performance settings or optimizations that surprise us, so expectations should be adjusted accordingly.
