Are you thinking about upgrading to the PS5 Pro from your present PS5? One of the most pressing issues when upgrading is how to transfer all of your valuable data, including game saves, profiles, settings, and media, without losing anything.
In this article, we will talk about some methods through which you can easily transfer your data to the latest console.
Important tips before you start your data transfer to PS5 Pro

How to Transfer Data from PS5 to PS5 Pro?
Step-by-Step Data Transfer:
- First power on both your PS5 and the new Pro console and make sure they are connected to the same network.
- On your Pro, navigate to Settings, then System Software, and find Data Transfer.
- Follow the directions, and your PS5 Pro will search for your old PS5 via the network.
- Once you are connected, initiate the transfer process.
- This process will move: Your user profile and account information, Console settings, All PS5 games installed on the internal SSD, all saved game data and screenshots and video clips.
- The Downloads/Uploads page allows you to track the transfer process.
Some alternative methods for data transfer
This is not the only method as there are two other methods from which you can transfer your PS5 data to the Pro console:
- Purchase an SSD that is compatible with the PlayStation 5 or use your old one if you already have it.
- Move your games onto this SSD.
- Later, install this SSD into your PS5 Pro to restore the games to internal storage without having to re-download or format.
- If an SSD is not a possibility, you’ll have to redownload each game from your PlayStation Network account. This could take a while, especially with a huge game library.

Another method
- If you have PlayStation Plus, you can upload your saved data to the cloud.
- After you’ve set up your PS5 Pro, just download your saves from the cloud.
USB
- Go to Settings > System Software > Back Up and Restore > Back Up Your PS5 on your old console.
- Now transfer the data to the USB drive.
- On your Pro console, use Restore Your PS5 from the same menu to import your saves. Note: This procedure erases the PS5 Pro’s existing data, so do it first.
