Blizzard Entertainment has finally introduced a new tank hero ‘Hazard’ for their hero shooting game Overwatch 2. He is going to be released on December 10, 2024 and from November 22 to 25, 2024, you can test him in the early access playtesting.

Hazard’s Abilities in Overwatch 2

According to Esports.GG, here are the abilities of the new tank characters:

• Crystal Cannon: His primary weapon is a five-barreled cannon which is integrated into his right arm. This allows him to fire purple crystals that are capable of damaging multiple enemies in a single burst. This spread attack could prove useful for area denial and crowd management.
• Ground Crystals: This ability of his can summon the purple crystals from the ground. These crystals not only act as an obstruction but also have a knockback effect, which can disrupt enemy formations and positions.
• Rain of Crystals: Hazard’s capacity to erupt crystals from his back and shower them down on his adversaries may be his ultimate talent. This move would deal area of effect (AoE) damage, making it an effective tool for removing large groups of opponents.
• Mobility: It has been shown that he can jump and land with a strong force. This is very similar to Doomfists and he might have some sort of escape mechanism as well.

Tank Role Enhancements

As a tank character, he is equipped with standard tank resistances:

• Knockback Resistance: A 25% reduction in received knockbacks, making him more difficult to defeat in battle.
• Critical Damage Reduction: With a 25% reduction, adversaries’ critical attacks will have less impact.
• Ultimate Charge Rate: His ultimate generates at a lower rate of 40%, as is customary for tanks to temper their formidable combat skills.

What to expect from the playtest?

This is a very good chance to test the hero before the official release of the game. Players can provide feedback on the balance, effectiveness, and fun factor of Hazard’s kit.
