Team Cherry, the developers behind the Hollow Knight Silksong, dropped a pretty sweet announcement trailer for the game on YouTube.

This also showcased some new gameplay of the game, which excited the fans the most.

The trailer focused on the game’s enlarged environment, richer quest system, and violent boss encounters, all set in an even larger cosmos than the original.

Also, all the speculation about the game not being real and it’s never going to be released has also been ended with this official announcement.

Why the long wait for Hollow Knight Silksong

Hollow Knight, the first game, was released all the way back in 2017. Almost 7 years later, the sequel is now finally releasing.

According to a Bloomberg feature by Jason Schreier, Team Cherry Co-Founders Ari Gibson and William Pellen recently shared their thoughts about the long delay.

This game was started as a small expansion of the first game. After that, the hornet grew into a full sequel due to creative experimentation and having fun while making the game.

“We’re very fortunate that we have a development method that is so enjoyable,” Gibson told Schreier. “Not exactly sure how we stumbled into that. Everything comes together quickly. You can see results fast. Ideas turn into something that exist in the game almost immediately before your eyes, and that’s very satisfying. And that allows you to go off on those tangents and meet weird characters because someone’s off-handedly mentioned a weird character as an idea and the other person’s laughed, and that’s enough.“

Hollow Knight Silksong will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch & Switch 2. This game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
