Blast from the past
The whole gaming community was a little shocked when the massive Halo leak was just released that revealed so many things related to the game.
These leaks even stretch all the back to 1998. With 26 years, this offers a rare glimpse of the development and evolution of one of the most iconic franchises in the gaming industry. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Know more about the Halo leak
These leaks were first reported by VISCERAL and consisted of approximately 90GB of data. This leaked out because of a project known as Digisite, where 343 Industries, now rebranded as Halo Studios, enlisted some teams of modders to recover and restore the cut content from the old Halo games.
One of the modders who was involved in the project has already confirmed the authenticity of the Halo leak to be real. This includes early-stage developments of games like: Halo: Combat Evolved, alongside projects like Myth II: Soulblighter and Oni.
Please keep in mind that connecting with leaked content carries risks, and these files are currently floating on multiple social media networks. Users should use caution while considering downloading such material.
In a key milestone for the franchise, 343 Industries announced in 2024 that it will change its name to Halo Studios and develop games using Unreal Engine 5.

According to studio head Pierre Hintze, this decision ushers in a new era for Halo. “If you truly break it down, Halo has had two very separate chapters. Chapter 1: Bungie. Chapter 2: 343 Industries. Now I believe we have an audience that is hungry for more. So we’re not just going to strive to enhance development efficiency; we’re going to change the recipe for making Halo games. So, we begin a new chapter today.”
Even if there is not a new Halo game on the horizon for now, fans were a little thrilled after getting these Halo leaks and enjoying some nostalgic look at the older games. This is a true history of the famous franchise.
