MindsEye: How to unlock free roam?

It won’t be wrong to say that MindsEye had a very terrible launch, filled with bugs and bad reviews from the fans and players.

However, there might be some who are still enjoying and trying to complete the game. Many players want to know one thing: when can they unlock the free roam in this game. Let’s find out more in this article.

Unlock free roam in MindsEye

Free roam isn’t available from the start and it needs some progression through the story. You will need to play at least 6 hours before it automatically becomes available as you progress through the main story.

To access this mode, you can open the start menu and select ‘Play.’ This will open up a variety of options for the players.

You can play different mini-games, do some small raids, mini races, solo missions and more.

What to expect in free roam?

When you first enter the free roam, you will find yourself in a safe house with a car and some initial objectives for you to start things off in MindsEye.

As you progress through the mode, new missions appear, such as combat encounters and weapon collection quests to help you upgrade your arsenal.

Keep a lookout for unusual map icons that unlock formidable weapons, giving your travels an extra edge.

Players can also take some mercenary missions by interacting with NPCs. They will assign you side missions like infiltrating enemy bases.

However, there are certain limitations: you cannot steal cars from the streets or enter most buildings, which may feel limited when compared to other open-world games.

Currently, completing side missions does not result in incentives such as money or XP; it is more about the experience than the stuff in MindsEye.
