There is a second playable character!

From Summer Game Fest 2025, some of the fans and groups of people got the chance to play Resident Evil Requiem for 30 minutes.

They have also released some new screenshots, information about the gameplay and more features. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Latest Resident Evil Requiem gameplay information

Resident Evil Requiem was 30 minutes long. First, it was in the first person, but was changed to the third person in the demo. It is said that players can play the entire game from both viewpoints.

Now, as we all know, Grace Ashcroft is the new protagonist of this game. In the demo, we can see her walking around, opening doors and turning lights on.

There is some kind of monster who is sneaking around. It took a bite out of her shoulder and she healed with a syringe, no healing spray.

The developers also hinted at the second playable character. They said it is a female character who has a bunch of weapons.

At Gamescom 2025 in August 2025, the Resident Evil Requiem gameplay demo will be available for fans to play.

Thoughts

It is kind of interesting how developers have provided both first-person and third-person viewpoints for the fans in this game.

Those who like third-person can switch the viewpoint in the game. As for the second playable character, they are trying hard to keep Leon a secret for now.

If they are talking about another female character, maybe Jill Valentine or Ada Wong? It would be interesting to see how many characters are actually present in Resident Evil 9.
