New The Witcher board game ‘Legacy’ announced by CD PROJEKT RED & Go On Board

The Witcher: Legacy will immerse players in the heart of the events that shaped the world known from Geralt’s stories.

CD PROJEKT RED and Go On Board are once again joining forces to bring The Witcher: Legacy to life. This is the third board game in this universe co-developed by the two studios, and this one brings its own exciting twist, offering a deep, branching narrative and the opportunity to shape a story that irreversibly changes the world of witchers.

Players will take on the roles of witchers and participate in events that nearly led to the downfall of the School of the Wolf. Their mission will be to hunt down those responsible for the attack on the school, avenge their fallen brothers, and ensure the witchers’ legacy is never forgotten.

The Witcher: Legacy is a unique adventure board game for 1–4 players, offering both cooperative and solo modes. Players will embark on an epic story-driven campaign across multiple scenarios, traveling through the vast kingdom of Kaedwen, fighting monsters, and unraveling a complex conspiracy that threatens the very existence of the witchers.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to expand a universe beloved by many and dive deeper into events that haven’t yet been fully explored in the games or books,” says Jan Rosner, VP of Business Development at CD PROJEKT RED.

We’ve been working on The Witcher: Legacy for over three years, during which our main focus has been listening to the needs and expectations of our community—to create the biggest and best Witcher experience a board game can offer.”

The project page is now live on Gamefound, with a special gift for followers; any follower who later participates in the crowdfunding campaign will receive an exclusive monster miniature—the Gorgon, a creature that has never before appeared in any Witcher video game.

Previous games co-created by CD PROJEKT RED and Go On Board have achieved massive success. Released in 2022, The Witcher: Old World ranks among the top 10 biggest board game crowdfunding campaigns of all time. With over 192,000 copies sold, it remains a global bestseller.
