Pokemon developer Game Freak suffers MAJOR data leak

Leaks for multiple Pokemon titles and unannounced games

A major leak related to Pokemon games happened yesterday. Pokemon developer Game Freak has confirmed that there has been a significant data breach.

Japanese studio has acknowledged that many details have been disclosed such as past and future games, personal information of employees and other details.

Upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A Nearly Complete

Game Freak has revealed that many old game source codes and content like Pokémon Black and White 2 and Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver have been leaked.

Not only that, new upcoming games and project data have also been revealed. One of the most notable is Pokémon Legends: Z-A, reportedly in the final stages of development under the codename “Ikkaku.” This will be the next entry in the Pokémon Legends series, following Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Information on Gen 10

The Game Freak leaks also suggest that a new generation game is also in development, known as Gen 10. This game, codenamed “Gaia,” and is developed for new hardware systems. This might be possibly for the Nintendo Switch 2.

In the leaks, the console is referred to as “Ounce” and it is believed that it will push the boundaries for the new Pokemon games in the future.

Pokémon MMO in the Works

Other data from the leaks had the fans excited as there is also information on the development of a Pokémon MMO, codenamed “Synapse.”

This MMO game is created in collaboration with ILCA. This is the studio who were behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

This big leak has disclosed a lot about the future of the Pokémon franchise, but it also shows the risks and issues that come with data breaches in the game business. As additional details emerge, fans will eagerly await formal announcements from Game Freak and Nintendo.
