Next year’s target window

On May 14, 2025, Ubisoft officially confirmed and revealed the information about the Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake, which is targeted to launch from January to April 2026.

Along with releases such as Anno 117: Pax Romana, Rainbow Six Mobile, and The Division Resurgence, Ubisoft is focusing on quality for the fiscal year 2025-2026.

Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake release?

During the earnings call presentation and meeting, Ubisoft revealed information on the Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake.

Ubisoft Montreal develops the game and is all set to launch in early 2026. This is consistent with Ubisoft’s objective of delivering high-quality experiences, as evidenced by Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’s 86 Metacritic score.

Fans on X, like @PoP_Fanatic, are excited about the remake’s ability to honor the 2003 original’s 92/100 rating.

I am very excited about this, as, just like me, many gamers love the old Prince of Persia games. I hope that Ubisoft will deliver the remake just like Oblivion Remaster.

Complete Rebuild

In February 2024, Insider Gaming reported that Ubisoft scrapped the 2020 version of this remake after getting backlash from fans for its visuals.

Now, Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake is built from scratch, which will adopt more authentic Persian settings.

  • A Persian actor replaces Yuri Lowenthal as the new voice actor for cultural correctness.
  • Graphics overhaul: The Anvil engine powers stunning visuals.
  • Mechanics have been revamped to include fluid combat and parkour with improved animations.

Confidential footage released with Insider Gaming shows a darker, more immersive tone, designed to engage the original’s 12 million fans as well as new gamers on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Sands of Time Remake is a key part of Ubisoft’s 2025-2026 roster, following The Lost Crown’s 1.5 million sales.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, the ground-up approach draws on the focused execution of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

With 600,000 Steam wishlists and a lot of excitement on Reddit’s r/PrinceOfPersia, this time-bending adventure is looking promising.
