This is a Switch 2 exclusive title

Nintendo Direct event on April 2, 2025 not only revealed the full Switch 2 console, but also delivered a surprise for the souls and FromSoftware fans. The Duskbloods, a new exclusive title set to launch in 2026.

From the trailer itself, it feels very similar to BloodBorne and is going to be a multiplayer gothic action game for fans. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Successor to Bloodborne

When The Duskbloods trailer was revealed at Nintendo Direct event, fans couldn’t help but to compare it with Bloodborne. This exclusive title to Switch 2 also brings dark, gothic aesthetic and haunting enemies with eerie enviornment.

However, as the teaser ended, the title The Duskbloods emerged, confirming that this is not a straight sequel, but rather a spiritual successor to FromSoftware’s 2015 PlayStation 4 masterpiece.

The teaser depicted a bleak world with sophisticated technology, such as a steam-powered jetpack and dual-wield submachine rifles, combining FromSoftware’s characteristic look with new ideas.

Although, it has not been confirmed, but fans speculate that this is pretty much a Bloodborne type game and not a sequel to the story.

The best part is that Hidetaka Miyazaki is involved with this title, so it’s going to be one of the best games on Switch 2.

8-Player PvPvE Multiplayer

It appears that FromSoftware is breaking their tradition with The Duskbloods by bringing an 8-player PvPvE multiplayer mode.

According to the official game website (translated from Japanese), players join the “Twilight Blood Tribe,” using special blood powers to compete for the “First Blood.”

This game sets up to eight players against each other and scary monsters in a frantic battle for survival. The trailer hinted at a multiplayer focus, with a player summoning an ally (perhaps an NPC or co-op partner), but the website verifies the competitive aspect.

The sad part is that this game won’t be arriving this year. The Duskbloods is schedule to release in 2026 on Switch 2. More latest information and updates will be share here, so make sure to follow us.
