The Witcher 4 & Intergalactic delayed: 2027 or later release window expected

Fans have to wait longer

Two of the most awaited games, The Witcher 4 and Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet, won’t be releasing in 2026. There was some speculation that both of these games might launch in the latter half of 2026, but now, it seems fans have to wait a little longer.

CD Projekt Red (CDPR) and whispers around Naughty Dog’s next big thing confirm both are years off, with 2027 as the earliest target. Let’s check out more details in this article.

No Witcher 4 until 2027

CD Projekt Red dropped the first trailer and reveal for The Witcher 4 at The Game Awards 2024 in December 2024. Full production has already started for this game, with more than 400+ developers working on this IP.

During a fiscal briefing, CFO Piotr Nielubowicz told investors, “We’re not pinning down a precise launch date yet, but it won’t happen before our incentive program’s first target expires on December 31, 2026.”

There is a pretty good chance that the game will target a 2027 or late-2027 release. There is also some speculation that this game might be the first exclusive game for PS6.

Ciri will be the new protagonist of this new saga and fans are happy that CD Projekt Red is taking its time to release the game. They don’t want another Cyberpunk 2077 situation on the launch day.

Intergalactic: Naughty Dog’s Sci-Fi Epic also misses 2026

Meanwhile, Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic, which was announced at the same Game Awards, is also not rushing to the PS5.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier weighed in on ResetEra, calling the 2024 teaser “very early” and stating unequivocally, “It’s not launching next year.”

There is no official release date from Naughty Dog yet, but director Neil Druckmann has hinted that it is still in development. Inspired by Akira and Cowboy Bebop, it takes on loneliness with “the deepest gameplay” in the studio’s history. This is also rumored to be released around 2027 and 2028 and can become yet another PS6 exclusive game.
