The world’s one of the youngest nations-India has seen a sudden growth of new generational sports. Now, Gaming in India is just no longer a sport, restricting itself to the four walls of a home, friends, and ‘popcorn’ sport. Rather it has now acted professionally with athletes training themselves as well as organizations funding them to work forward. It may sound fascinating or preposterous but Esports is grabbing all the attention in the town. It was only last year that the Government officially recognized Esports and now Asian Games 2022 is all set to have Esports as the tournament ‘pilot’ sport.

With the predominant role of the boom of digitization due to affordable data and smartphones, the Indian Gaming Industry is growing at an exponential rate. A report suggests the Indian esports Industry to grow from $40 million in 2022 to $140 million in 2027. It is a must to note that digital gaming which includes esports is much different than Real Money gaming (RMG) which consists of fantasy gaming apps.

With the growing fanbase for Esports, there is also a surge in the growth of Esports organizations supporting and financing them. In this article let us take a glance at the top Esports organizations in India. 

1. Soul Esports

Soul Esports is regarded as one of the biggest Esports organizations in India. Soul Esports was established by Naman Mathur, also known as soul mortal, in 2018. Presently, the ownership includes S8ul Mortal, Thug, and Goldy Bhai. The formation of the present S8ul eSports Organization resulted from the merger of Soul and Team 8bit. This union was strategically orchestrated to mold. the Indian gaming landscape into a captivating blend of skillful competition and captivating content, catering to a wide audience. The organization is headquartered in Mumbai, India.

2.  Godlike Esports

Godlike Esports is also regarded as one of the top organizations in India. Chetan ‘Kronten’ Chandgunde, one of the best-known personalities in the Indian gaming Industry is the owner of Godlike Esports. Godlike Esports has a strong presence in five popular games. Besides the combat tournaments of BGMI, they also have a strong FIFA team.

One of the key athletes from the GodL “Charanjot Singh” will be representing team India for the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022. 

3. Global Esports

Global Esports was founded by hosting the Dota 2 T17 Pubstomp at the Out of the Blue, Mumbai. It is a Professional eSports Organization that owns teams across the globe in various titles such as CS: GO, DOTA 2, Fortnite, Overwatch, PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, Apex Legends, etc. Harmandeep Singh, Ubed Khatri, Ajmal Shaikh, Tanjot Singh, and Telzing Kelsang are the prominent Indian squad for the Global Esports Organisation.

4. Orangutan 

Orangutan is an esports organization headquartered in Mumbai. Orangutan has a strong presence in four popular games. This includes BGMI, Free Fire, Valorant, and Pokemon Unite. Akop, Ash, Believe, Whizzgod, and Vedzz are regarded as prominent BGMI players from the Orangutan. They also have a women’s squad for the game Valorant i.e. EMI, Erruma, Gunner, Twirly, and Casper.  

5. Team XSpark

Team Xpark is a prominent esports organization headquartered in Mumbai. The team is owned by prominent BGMI player/streamer Tanmay ‘ScoutOP’Singh and managed by Urvesh. Team XSpark Battlegrounds Mobile India team main lineup is Aditya (Aditya Mathe), Pukar (Pukar Singla), Sarang (Sarangajyoti Deka), Mavi (Harmandeep Singh) and Sc0utOP (Tanmay Singh). The in-game leader of Team XSpark Battlegrounds Mobile India team is Sc0utOP (Tanmay Singh).
