The classic PlayStation is back
It’s been 30 years for the PlayStation and Sony is celebrating with the new PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. The new PS5 Pro, PS5, Portal and Dual Sense controllers are having a classic makeover that has taken the gaming community by storm.
This was announced on the PlayStation blog on September 20 and the pre-orders for the anniversary collection will start on September 26, 2024. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Fans are gearing up for the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection
The timeless 90’s style returns with the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection and fans are going crazy with it. Due to its limited availability, not everyone will have the opportunity to own this anniversary edition.
Every new console and controller will be sold in the new design, which is similar to the old Sony PlayStation. There won’t be any specs difference from the original console.
However, you cannot expect the same price for it. Although Sony has not revealed the exact price, many fans expect it to be expensive. We can expect an increase of $200-300 for the 30th-anniversary edition.
But hardcore fans and collectors, are not going to pass on this opportunity to own these limited-edition consoles and controllers. The pre-orders will start on September 26, 2024, on the official PlayStation website.

Fans have forgotten about the PS5 PRO
Recently, Sony also announced the new PS5 Pro, which got mixed reactions from the fans and the gaming community. Although the features are definitely better than the PS5, the price point was the main thing that fans didn’t like.
However, now with the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection, it appears that they have already forgotten about that. Many fans are ready to spend their money on this classic limited edition, which may cost them more than the PS5 Pro.
For some, it might be a waste of money, but many like to have these as collectibles that can also be sold at a higher price point in the future. That’s another advantage of having a PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection with you, apart from flexing it online or in front of your friends.
